Hey loves.
So as promised in my last post, it’s review time.
Earlier this week I received a few products from essence cosmetics and I was super excited to try them out . All items mentioned can be found online or at selected clicks stores nationwide.

After prepping and priming my face I went in with the cover stick. The cover stick is a concealer used for concealing any imperfections you may have on your face to give it a clear canvas for foundation application. The cover stick was a bit difficult to blend out with a beauty blender so I went in with a concealer brush and blended it into my skin. I must say it covered my imperfections perfectly but I didn’t like the fact that I had to work extra hard to blend it in. It retails for R44,95.

I then went in with the #instaperfect foundation in the shade 90. The consistency of the #instaperfect foundation does remind me of the MAC face and body foundation. It is a liquid foundation so the consistency is very watery. As a girl who likes full coverage, after the first application I was a bit disappointed in how light the coverage was although it wasn’t a shocker because it is said to be a light-medium coverage foundation. I used a flat blending brush for application. I went in with a second layer and I love the fact that it is a buildable foundation. The finish was dewy at first and dried down to a moist matte finish after I blended it into my skin with a beauty blender. It retails for R99,95.

After foundation application I went in with the soft touch mousse in the shade 53. I applied the mousse with a foundation brush to apply the mousse. I did however use the mousse only on my forehead as the shade was a bit dark for the rest of my face. The formulation of the mousse felt so smooth, it actually reminded me of actual chocolate mousse. It was extremely soft and could’ve mistakenly eaten it. It applied on the skin beautifully and it dried down matte. It retails for R79,95.

I then set the foundation with the mattifying compact powder. I used a huge blending brush to apply the powder onto my face. The powder had a matte and smooth finish. I liked how it sat on the face and I used it to contour too. Multipurpose products are definitely a win, especially since I’m a student. If anything can save me coins then I’m here for it! It retails for R59,95.

I definitely recommend all these products to students who are on a student budget. You get good quality products at an affordable price. I definitely will be incorporating more essence cosmetics products into my makeup kit.
You look so pretty. Quality productsβ€
